Every now and then I scroll through the Google Play Store and see if anything stands out for download. Today I found ATIS 2 which I mistakenly took for a shooter game when it is actually a sci-fi turbo ride experience. From the same makers as Darkness Roller Coaster (my review here) comes a pretty darn fine, though short, turbo ride kind of experience. Part 1 is free and part 2 is $1.00 and what you get out of this is a short, mesmerizing experience.
Part 1 lasts maybe 2 minutes and shows off some decent sci-fi space visuals, it’s free so check it out. Part 2 shines and shows that great visuals can still be blasted into your corneas at a ridiculously fast pace. What I saw in ATIM 2 kind of had me blown away. The team behind these roller coaster rides are clearly getting better at their craft. That dizzying feeling that reviewers tend to give negative score points is here, and I love it. It’s supposed to be a little unnerving to float through space uncontrollably as space battles happen around you and environments shift in a way you have never seen before. Added to that is a very minimal storyline and a “to be continued” at the end and I am left wanting more.
Both these videos can be viewed in about 2 minutes each and although I definitely wanted more, what I got was still worth it. As long as you aren’t crazy sensitive to motion sickness, you’ll have a blast. As I said, some of the best visuals I’ve seen in VR and just a quick fun ride. I have to recommend this as a must buy, if you’re the market for a turbo ride kind of experience.
